Board of Managers

Board of Managers Goals

Our goals are:
a) to assist the congregation in caring for the church finances & property maintenance,
b) to encourage all to willingly contribute their time, talent and resources and
c) to serve God cheerfully and in fellowship.

Board of Managers Duties
Board members take turns acting as weekly Duty Managers or Counters. The Duty Manager is responsible for opening and closing the church on Sundays, for presenting the weekly announcements before worship, and assisting with counting.  The Board is responsible for determining and overseeing projects and maintenance, safety concerns and assisting with special events.  We host Saturday clean-ups in the spring and fall at the church & cemetery. Volunteers from the congregation are encouraged to participate. We organize the preparation of the annual report, and arrange the annual congregational meeting in February.
Some recent projects include re-roofing, renovating church offices, insulating the old sanctuary ceiling, painting the sanctuary and improved lighting. Our sanctuary window restoration project was completed November 2009. The challenges of preserving and maintaining our 150 year old building, met with vision and courage, have achieved satisfying results.
Our primary sub-committees are Finance & Cemetery.   Our Treasurer Linda Thompson works diligently all year managing our income and expenses and keeping our financial records up to date. With the Finance Committee, she prepares the annual budget for approval by the congregation. The Cemetery is managed by Glenn Uberschlag assisted by our Board representative Paul Magee.
The Board is responsible for overseeing the Bazaar & Silent Auction in November – a very popular fellowship & fundraising event. Over the years considerable profit has been accrued by selling Zehrs cards. This is now performed by a team of volunteers. Sheila Bordignon and Kathy Kiggins, who have spent many years performing this service have retired. To facilitate events and projects, we regularly ask for and encourage volunteers.

The twelve members of the Board serve for a three-year term, with four members elected each year at the annual congregational meeting. Volunteers, both men and women, are welcome to serve on the Board. We meet roughly every 2nd month
