“Come Thou Long Expected Jesus #110

“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” Vrs 1, 3

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus #110

1) Come, thou long-expected Jesus, born to set thy people free;

from our fears and sins release us; let us find our rest in thee.

Israel’s strength and consolation, hope of all the earth thou art,

dear desire of every nation, joy of every longing heart.

2) Born thy people to deliver; born a child and yet a king,

born to reign in us forever; now thy gracious kingdom bring.

By thine own eternal Spirit rule in all our hearts alone;

by thine all sufficient merit raise us to thy glorious throne.

“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” Vrs 1, 3

1) Come, Thou fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;

Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above.

Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love.

3) Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God;

He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood;

How His kindness yet pursues me Mortal tongue can never tell,

Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me I cannot proclaim it well.

Call to Worship:

One: The heavens are trembling with anticipation,

All: And we wait for Jesus.

One: The nights are long and the days are short,

     All: And we wait for Jesus.

One: Our redemption is drawing near,

All: And we wait for Jesus.

One: Let us hope in God and worship as people ready to see the salvation of our God!

to us the path of knowledge show, and cause us in her ways to go.

Praise Song – “Behold the Lamb” (Vrs 1,2,3)

1) Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away slain for us and we remember

The promise made that all who come in faith find forgiveness at the cross

So we share in this Bread of Life and we drink of His sacrifice

As a sign of our bonds of peace around the table of the King

2) The body of our Saviour Jesus Christ, torn for you eat and remember

The wounds that heal the death that brings us life, paid the price to make us one

So we share in this Bread of Life and we drink of His sacrifice

As a sign of our bonds of love around the table of the King

3) The blood that cleanses every stain of sin, shed for you drink and remember

He drained death’s cup that all may enter in to receive the life of God

So we share in this Bread of Life and we drink of His sacrifice

As a sign of our bonds of grace around the table of the King

Offering Prayer

Praise: “Hope is a Star” Hymn #119 (Verse 1)

Hope is a star that shines in the night, leading us on till the morning is bright.

Refrain: When God is a child there’s joy in our song.

The last shall be first and the weak shall be strong, and none shall be afraid.

Going Out with Hope

Benediction

Parting Music: “Behold the Lamb” (Vrs 4)

4) And so with thankfulness and faith we rise, to respond and to remember

Our call to follow in the steps of Christ, as His body here on earth

As we share in His suffering, we proclaim Christ will come again

And we’ll join in the feast of heaven, around the table of the King

Postlude: “Behold the Lamb” Reprise
