The next issue of the Grapevine will be available on Sunday, February 26^th. Paper copies of the Grapevine will be placed at both entrances of the sanctuary and in the Fellowship Hall (they will not be placed in individual mailboxes). Electronic copies of the Grapevine will be sent at the end of the week of February 24^th. If you have any items you would to include for this issue, please send them to Inge Ford by Monday, February 20^th. All submissions are welcome.

Mail Box/Name Tags

With the most up to date information that has been provided, we have made all of the necessary changes required:
Name Tags: We ask that you check your name tag to ensure there is one or two in each slot which is filed under your mail box number. There is a clip board which identifies the number of each name tag – example – Mail box #1 would be in the first spot, and mail box #189 is the very last slot. We encourage you to wear your name tag and at the end of the service, put it back in the same slot. If everybody helps in this way, the index will maintain some order for the following week.
Mail Box: Every box has a number and there is a clip board hanging by the mail box so that all you have to do is look up the last name and it identifies the number assigned to that person. Please try to clear your mail boxes on a weekly basis.
If there are any concerns or issues, please advise either Tom Vanderstelt or Paul Magee.

Curling at Doon

Everyone is invited to curl on Sunday, March 11^th at the Ayr Curling Club! Experienced and new curlers will play together and then share in a pot luck dinner following this fun afternoon of Doon Fellowship. Even if you don’t plan to curl, please join us!
Cost: $9 per curler, $1 per non curler
Start Time: 3:15 arrival with curling to start at 3:30.
Sign-up sheets are on the Fellowship Committee Bulletin Board – just look for the curling poster. Questions? Please contact George Schieven.

At a recent meeting with members of our community, much brainstorming was done about possible new programs that could be offered through the Community Sharing Centre.
They had many great ideas! Now we need your prayers!
Please prayerfully consider the following opportunities for reaching out and meeting the needs of our community. Listen for God’s response and leading in terms of space to hold such programs, resources to run such programs, and volunteers to make these programs possible! We realize we won’t be starting all of them ‘tomorrow’, but with your prayers and support, we may be able to begin some of them sooner than we thought possible!

Healthy Cooking & Baking on a budget
Needle Crafts – sewing, knitting, quilting, crocheting, …
Handy Man home repair workshops
Food Buys – bulk purchasing; “Farmers Market”
Backyard Gardening/ Gardening in a pot
Instrumental music: i.e. guitar
How to get a job: resume writing, interview skills, comfort in talking, how to get started (for teenagers, for the unemployed)
Activities for At-Home-Moms – scrapbooking, drawing, painting, book club, …
Small machine repair – sewing machines, computers, …
Computer skills
Trade skills
Guided bike rides with kids – promote safe bike riding

The Snack Bin Program

There’s a need in our community…
Can you help us to fill it?

The Snack Bin Program
(Through Nutrition for Learning)
@ Doon Public School

is looking for volunteers to help keep this program running smoothly!

The volunteers are needed for:

- restocking of the snack bins for the classrooms

- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:45 – 3:00 p.m.

- some light lifting is required

- scheduling can be flexible to fit your schedule!

– anywhere from 1 day/month to 3 days/week

- Police checks are required. Nutrition for Learning will provide a letter of introduction for the application and will reimburse you for the $10 charity fee.
