- When Tropical Storm Washi made landfall in the Philippines on December 16, 2011, the results were devastating flash floods and landslides that left thousands homeless and decimated crops. According to the United Nations, as many as 400,000 people have been displaced. Thousands are in desperate need of food, shelter, clean water and emergency relief supplies.
